Our Story
I’ve always had a quiet desire to create something beautiful, designed by me, for others to enjoy.
MYRN Silk started with that very simple idea. Silk is an investment piece and I wanted something that felt unique and beautiful. When I was shopping for myself and a gift for my best friend, everything was plain or I couldn’t find bold and striking silk prints that I loved. So I had a crazy thought and decided to create them myself.
As I’ve become older I’ve tried every product to help with hair drying and frizz. When I first started using a silk pillowcase last year, I instantly noticed the difference in my long hair. It felt smoother, shinier and stayed cleaner for longer. I’m a mum of two young children so being able to walk out the door without any styling, maybe just a drop of serum was a total dream. In the long term, I’ve really noticed a difference in the health of my hair - it feels softer and less dry or brittle.
Pronounced “Mir-ren”, MYRN Silk is named after our daughter who has the most gorgeously thick, golden and wild hair, all made easier with silk. She’s the inspiration behind the name, but Mirren and my son Rory are the inspiration for why I wanted to create something of my own in the first place.
So I started researching the idea secretly, working out what it might cost and finding the right suppliers. Then it came to actually moving forward. I had to tell my husband and that was the scary part. Was he going to think I was mad, investing our hard earned savings in a new business idea totally unknown to us? But he loved it and wanted to be involved. He saw the opportunity to completely transform our family dynamic, own something together and create more flexibility for our future.
So this is why I'm doing it...
Working from our home in Guildford, my husband and I have poured our hearts into creating prints that bring a touch of luxury and colour to bedtime. In collaboration with our UK designer, our ideas are brought to life through unique, hand-drawn printed silk, inspired by all that is beautiful in nature.

From day one, it was important that we created a high quality product offering, that delivered comfort, joy and luxury all at once. Our silk pillowcases, eye masks and scrunchies are made from 25 momme, pure 6A grade mulberry silk, offering a beautifully luxurious feel while made to last. Our customer experience is paramount, which is why we offer complementary items (every pillowcase comes with a matching large silk scrunchie and every silk eye mask, with a quilted silk travel pouch), free UK delivery and branded presentation boxes.
